SEVEN WONDERS OF THE ANCIENT WORLD 1 B
When I was a small child I found a large pile of Jigsaw pieces lying next to a rubbish bin. After hunting for several hours I thought I had found every piece. As the box was still intact I took everything home.I enjoyed many days putting it together. Only at the end did I find that there was one piece missing! This was a disappointment the memory of which stayed with me for many a decade.
Some years ago I related the adventure to my children and then let it fall back into the recesses of folklore.
I am a lot older now. In April of 2020 I reached my 70th Birthday. As the COVID 19 Lockdown is in place it was difficult for my children to hand over the presents they had so lovingly chosen for me. But they made the effort and arrived, albeit, on different days, and with Social Distancing rules strictly adhered to. Presents were left at the front gate and "Happy Birthdays" called from across the street. As you can imagine it was quite an emotional time for all!
Later that night I had the time to open my presents and what a surprise! One of many presents was this very same Jigsaw. I spent several days putting it together and it was great to see it complete after all these years. I sent a photo of the finished jigsaw to my children. My son then phoned me to tell me how he acquired it. And guess what? There was one piece missing! Not to be daunted,my son painstakingly replicated the piece. His effort was so good that I did not know until he told me. What a treat!
STAY SAFE STAY WELL.
